I hadn't been to this location before but will definitely go back when I'm in the area! Definitely a popular spot for locals.. I've been to the one on the south side and it gets pretty busy. I liked the outdoor area at this one tho (they still have inside seating tho) . It's quick counter service, fast but friendly. Don't miss the salsa bar! I always get the caramelo with steak and am never let down. But you can't go wrong with anything on the menu and I will definitely have to try the breakfast option ! Also fun fact: i noticed that they do a discount for paying in cash . While they do have their own parking there is only one way in and out which can be tricky but worth it .

Birria, caramelos, and bean and cheese burritos keep me coming back and ordering extra to go. Fresh salsa+ bar and great drinks, including Mexican sodas, horchata, and my favorite Jamaica- clearly made by hand and superior for it. Indoor and outdoor seating available, and always a clean table despite mealtimes being reliably busy. No stress if there's a line- its always a quick pick up. Consistent service and food, even late at night.

Still here to tell you, 4 years later this place still has the BEST Sonoran Hotdogs! Sweet soft hot dog buns, and the masterpiece of ingredients that make up this perfect meal are still prepared with knowledge and attention to detail. This place is still a hotdog stand, but it serves meals like a brick and mortar restaurant. Well done....

Food from Obegrón, Sonora, Mexico. Street food you likely haven't had before. I enjoyed the PAPANCHAS a perfectly prepared baked potato that is buttered before being loaded with carne asada/mushroom/cheese blend. I also enjoyed the best Sonoran hot dog of the 4 that I've tried on different trips to Tucson. Recommended by Eater.com

Solid 4.5! Went on an eating adventure in Tucson, and this was our first stop. Ordered a hot dog and a Mexican Coke. How was it? Sonoran Dog- Delicious! They present their dog with beans, onions, mustard, tomatoes and jalapeno sauce (I got mine with no mayo). They have a condiment bar where you can add more stuff, but I ate mine as it came. It was delicious! They are more streamlined on the toppings, and the dog is not overflowing with crap falling out all over the place like some Sonoran hot dog spots. It had minimal beans in it which I liked, and the bacon wrapped dog was solid. The bun was awesome! Nice and soft and chewy! Great bread! Washed it down with a bottle of Coke. Was about $9.00 for the dog and Coke. Would definitely come back if I lived in Tucson and this would be on the regular rotation!

As good as you can get for the Tucson Sonora Dog Community. I have always wanted to come here, but so busy and often I forget. The parking lot is only accessible from the steep East side of the location, don't be shy getting in or out. Came here for a quick bite while working on a project and they mentioned El Nene and I jumped at the chance. We arrived just as they were opening, so we beat the rush. Orders taken on the East side of building, signs on wall tell the story of a wonderful feast. I ordered two sonora dogs and a horchata, went inside to the tables to wait, there is outdoor seating as well under a shade. Most people were to-go, and the orders began to roll in. Didn't take more than 10 minutes to get our food. very tasty and good dressing up of the Sonora Dog, pepers were a little hot, but that is often 50/50 on sweet versus sweat. Horchata to cool down. Thanked the busy staff, I'm assuming we could leave our items on the table, but we put tray next to trash can after emptying trash. Very good, Tucson Food. Other Mexican Southwest food available, fast.
